Classroom Earth Series

Bring the science research of our world into your classroom and your home

As part of our commitment to environmental education, Earthwatch Institute, with the generous support of the Goldring Family Foundation, has created a series of case studies that outline the background, field research methods, and outcomes of Earthwatch-supported projects throughout the world. These project summaries showcase the spectacular research of our principal investigators, and are geared for grades 10 and up.

Educators have successfully used these case studies to supplement lessons on scientific theories, social studies, and writing skills. Other potential teaching areas are climate issues, animal behavior, geography, journal writing, graph reading, problem solving, questioning and reasoning, cause and effect, cultural heritage, technology uses, and career building, all in the context of real world events. Check out the table of contents for sample case studies.

Bring this collection into your classroom or home and help foster the animal rescuer, climate ranger, or science superhero, inside your students and yourselves.
