Earthwatch Institute’s mission is to promote sustainable conservation of our natural resources and cultural heritage by creating partnerships between scientists, educators and the general public. To realize this mission, Earthwatch Institute has three recognized areas of focus: Research, Education and Conservation. This year, Earthwatch will sponsor over 130 scientific field research projects in 49 countries and 18 American states, making estimated volunteer field grants of $3.7 million.

The Learning and Communications Manager will deliver a consistent, high quality learning experience to Field Program participants (Climate Champions and Stakeholder groups) at the North America Regional Climate Center in Edgewater MD, inspiring participants to engage with Climate Change and Sustainability issues as relevant to leading to sustained behavior change.
This position is responsible for creating and coordinating up to five donor cultivation and fundraising events annually. The Events Manager, with the support of the Director of Major Gifts, will manage effective donor stewardship efforts, including phone and personal contact with donors and will utilize Earthwatch’s existing network of volunteers to support events.
To deliver a consistent, high quality learning experience to Field Program participants (Program participants and Stakeholder groups) at the Latin America Regional Climate Center (RCC) in Curitiba, inspiring them to engage with Climate Change and Sustainability issues as relevant and leading to sustained behavior change.
Represent Earthwatch as Country Representative, based in Curitiba, and ensure that Earthwatch operates within all necessary and relevant local laws and guidelines.
The Field Director will oversee delivery of all research and education field programmes at the Latin America Regional Climate Centre in collaboration with the local research partners. The Field Director will meet the agreed key performance indicators and ensure the programme achieves an ongoing environmental, economic and social legacy within the climate centre landscape.
