Larry brings over 25 years of international management experience including leadership of large business units at Procter & Gamble and Goodyear. He has consistently led successful market innovations while navigating rapidly changing landscapes in diverse markets including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Mexico, Canada and the US. Coming from the international business community, Larry is keenly aware of how human impact can add to the stresses on our planet. He comes to Earthwatch with a strong passion and conviction that humans, individually and in groups, can absolutely be the difference in managing and minimizing those impacts. Nigel Winser
Executive Vice President Nigel joined Earthwatch in July 2005 and was appointed Executive Vice President in 2008. Prior to that he was the Deputy Director and Head of the Expeditions and Fieldwork Division at the Royal Geographical Society in London. Trained as a Life Scientist at Westminster University, Nigel first joined the Royal Geographical Society as a Deputy Field Director in 1976. He was awarded the Patron's Gold Medal of the Society in 1988 and the Mungo Park Award of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society. Nigel has been on the board of several geographical and conservation bodies. His principal expertise lies with interdisciplinary and international purpose-led fieldwork, community based nature conservation approaches, and corporate engagement with environmental issues. Nigel was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Science from Westminster University for his services to the environment and conservation.

Arcott Mahesh
Chief Financial Officer
Mahesh joined as international CFO in November 2011. He brings senior management and entrepreneurial experience gained in the engineering, aerospace, FMCG and real estate sectors in areas including corporate finance, strategic planning, financial management, business development and general management. He believes that through its products and services Earthwatch can play a significant role in raising the awareness of environmental sustainability in the world.

James Campbell
International Director of Corporate Development James Campbell spent 10 years in the financial services and commercial arena before moving into the not-for-profit sector, where he established a sustainable economic model for rural communities in India, managed the European Union sustainability initiative, the Centres for the Built Environment, and advised the UK Government’s Learning + Skills Council on sustainability issues before joining Earthwatch in 2008 to manage the flagship HSBC Climate Partnership program, a complex international program which concluded in 2011, having met or exceeded more than 200 targets and objectives. From 2012, he was appointed International Director of Corporate Development.

James Fry
Interim International Director - Public Program/Marketing
James' role includes oversight of the recruitment and fielding of over 1500 international volunteers drawn from the general public in over 30 different countries and creating strategic partnerships with other non-profit and for-profit organizations to enhance the volunteer program. Prior to joining Earthwatch, James spent over 10 years working in the educational travel sector helping high school, college students and baby boomers explore the world as well as working for two publicly traded companies in the outsourcing and market research industries.

Steve Gray
Head of Programmes Steve first joined Earthwatch in October 2002. After six years working on the development of corporate partnerships, Steve joined the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust as Head of Fundraising. He re-joined Earthwatch in September 2009, and is now Head of Programmes. In his current role, Steve oversees the delivery and financial management of a wide range of funded programmes in the UK and US that provide people from many different backgrounds with an inspiring Earthwatch experience. From corporate employees, to teachers, students and young scientists - the Programme team that Steve leads works with individuals joining Earthwatch field research projects worldwide to prepare them for their experience, and help them make a difference at work and at home on their return. The team also work in depth with partners from the corporate sector and government to build understanding of sustainability issues and support cutting-edge scientific research. These partners include HSBC, Shell, Ernst & Young and the Government of Oman.

Dr. Mark Chandler
International Director of Research
Overseeing strategic development of the research program, including the 65 projects run by Earthwatch across the globe, Mark received his doctorate from McGill University studying the evolution of host-parasite communities in tropical frog communities. He is a prominent conservation biologist with over 20 years experience conducting field research in Central and South America, East Africa and New England. Mark's research interests include the human and natural dimensions of sustainable agriculture, the conservation aquatic biodiversity fisheries, community ecology and evolutionary dynamics. His professional interests are the development of sustainable agriculture programs that enhance both livelihoods and the environment, the active participation of local communities in field conservation programs, and the capacity development of scientists from under-served communities.

Marsha O’Doherty
International Director of Human Resources
As Director of Human Resources internationally, Marsha champions the development of a global human resource strategy allowing for country differences, using local human resources for guidance, and maintains a level of parity for the staff throughout the organization as it relates to salary and benefits. Marsha has a wide range of nonprofit operational management experience as a national staff member of the American Red Cross, and has worked in Germany, Italy, Japan, Bosnia and Kosovo, as well as holding several US stateside assignments.
