Earthwatch will work with your alumni association to design a truly different excursion experience for your alumni of all ages.

Earthwatch volunteers reviewing field specimens in the BahamasEarthwatch expeditions get alumni out of the passive tourist role and into the field to help leading scientists and community conservationists find the solutions to the world's most pressing environmental problems.

An Earthwatch expedition will mean much more-for your alumni and the communities they'll encounter and assist-than any tour could ever hope to. Earthwatch gives your alumni a way to preserve the world around them and have a positive impact on its most threatened environments and cultures.

When you offer a group expedition for your alumni-perhaps joined by your professors, administrators, staff, or current students-you offer them a way to get immersed in another culture and give back to that culture and the natural resources it depends upon.

You also give them a chance to learn about some cutting-edge environmental science and archaeology by performing it, to participate in international sustainable development projects, and to experience places that standard "tour groups" simply never get to go.

Earthwatch has projects for your alumni in more than 30 countries worldwide

Earthwatch has projects for your alumni in more than 30 countries worldwide, including some of the most amazing places on Earth: Easter Island, the Peruvian Amazon, the African veldt, and the beaches, reefs, and waters of the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Fiji, Trinidad, the US Virgin Islands...and more!

Whatever their ages-we've worked with volunteers from age 10 to those in their 90s-Earthwatch lets your alumni live out the educational and service-oriented aspects of your school's mission after graduation,  working on crucial issues such as Climate Change, Ocean Health, Sustainable Resource Management, and Sustainable Cultures.

Nighttime accommodations on Earthwatch expeditions range from camping in national parks to staying in B&Bs or hotels—all while supporting the scientists in the field during the day. Couples and/or private accommodations are available on some expeditions, and many expeditions offer chances to experience the best of authentic world cuisines.

Volunteers perform field researchWhether they're former science majors looking to renew old interests and brush up on field skills , travelers interested in world cultures, or simply looking for ways to take action in the world with former classmates and fellow alumni, Earthwatch can put them where they're needed most-in a way no other organization can.

So customize an expedition that works for your alumni, drawing on our nearly 40 years of experience as the world's leading international environmental volunteer organization. Groups can be arranged for one week, two weeks, or other durations, at any time of year, based on scientists' availability and research conditions.

With the pressures of climate change, habitat degradation and biodiversity loss weighing upon us, Earthwatch knows how crucial it is to get people of all ages and backgrounds involved in saving our planet. Give your alumni an exclusive chance to help us all find the ways to a more sustainable future.

Founded in 1971, Earthwatch sends volunteer research assistants out into the field to help leading scientists with hands-on environmental research and conservation projects. In 2009 we will support more than 80 projects in more than 30 countries and 20 US states.

“I couldn’t accomplish my research goals without Earthwatch volunteers. With every new team, I feel and see the same awe and wonder in them that inspired my own passion for what I do." — Dr. Luke Dollar,
Duke University Primate Center; Principal Investigator,
Carnivores of Madagascar

As alumni in their 20s and 30s indicate they're eager to join volunteer groups organized through alma mater, designing an expedition for them with Earthwatch helps you reach a generation that hasn't traditionally been interested in standard alumni trips-and which ranks the environment as one of its top concerns.

For more than 35 years, Earthwatch has partnered with and supported the research of scientists from the world's best research universities and research and conservation agencies, including:
