Turtle Expeditions

Many species of turtle are endangered. Their ocean habitat – one of Earthwatch’s priority research areas – is also threatened by human activity. From tiny terrapins to the giant Leatherback turtle to the critically endangered Hawksbill Turtles of the Great Barrier Reef  you can be actively involved in vital, hands-on conservation efforts in beautiful locations. Indeed, without the efforts of Earthwatch volunteers scientist Frank Paladino believes that the Leatherback turtle would already be extinct in the pacific.
