The rapidly-growing economies of this continent are among the most heavily-populated countries in the world

This brings along accompanying problems for the environment. A heavy dependence on harvesting forests, wildlife, and fish has led to a loss of about two-thirds of Asia’s natural habitats. The world’s third largest rainforest complex is disappearing alarmingly fast and remaining timber reserves will last fewer than 40 years at the current rate. Another threat is desertification which is affecting 35 per cent of Asia’s farm lands. Earthwatch projects aim to understand these problems better to help find solutions to these issues. Join us in the field for a memorable cultural and wildlife experience.
