Brother Earth and the Discovery Channel join forces for Earthwatch

A partner with Earthwatch since 2008, Brother Australia has volunteered more than  600 hours to over five different ‘Scientist for a Day’ projects across NSW, SA, and QLD during 2009-2010. Brother Australia is one of Earthwatch’s major partners in supporting critical conservation efforts and environmental protection while providing direct-funding to research.

Brother Australia has furthered its commitment to the environment by launching Brother Earth, its green website created for consumers to engage with ecological issues surrounding the IT industry. It also provides information about Brother’s eco-friendly IT products and activities. Visitors are able to take quizzes to gauge the sustainability of their lifestyle or select their favourite Brother environmental project including Earthwatch's Project Manta, for the company to donate more resources to the cause.

Brother Earth has recently announced its expanded partnership with the Discovery Channel. Brother Earth will dominate prime time from now to mid-March with a new TV advert. The new 30 second TV advert will air during 256 prime time spots from 8 February to 13 March, and will also be featured on the Discovery Channel in Australia and New Zealand. The partnership will support the efforts of Earthwatch in promoting and raising awareness on environmental protection.

Along with the new TV advert, Brother Earth has recently launched an environment- related competition to further engage the public with critical issues. The competition (in Australia only) asks viewers to answer a multiple choice question, and in 20 words is less say what they do to protect the environment. Three winners will take home the HL-4570CDW, an eco friendly colour laser printer.
