Earthwatch Institute (Europe) is the working name for Conservation Education and Research Trust (CERT) which is a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales No: 4373313 and a registered charity No: 1094467.
Earthwatch Institute (Europe) operates under licence from Earthwatch Expeditions Inc. which is based in the USA and was founded in Boston in 1971.
Earthwatch Institute (Europe) has a Board of Trustees who are responsible for the governance of the charity and overseeing its strategy and direction. The Trustees meet quarterly with members of the charity's Executive Team and other staff as required. Generally Trustees are elected for a three year period with the possibility of being re-elected at the end of that time.
