Ed Wilson Ed Wilson
President & CEO

Ed brings over 15 years international management experience in the non-profit sector as well as hands-on experience in conservation and research expeditions. During his five years at the helm, he has grown and expanded Earthwatch operations including new offices in China, Brazil, India and Costa Rica. Under his leadership and with support from the Boards of the Earthwatch umbrella, Ed has brought discipline and focus to Earthwatch's research and education programs including establishment of globally integrated strategies that support urgent field research while developing strong foundations for innovative learning models in environmental issues.
Nigel Winser

Nigel Winser
Executive Vice President

Joining Earthwatch as Executive Director of Earthwatch Europe in July 2005, Nigel was appointed Executive Vice President & Head of Programmes in 2008. He oversees the development and execution of Earthwatch's research, engagement and learning programs. He works with Earthwatch's program leadership to facilitate the integration of world class field-based conservation efforts, to advance the organization's work in 55 countries around the world and monitor Earthwatch's programmatic effectiveness.

Tereza Byrne

Tereza Byrne
Chief Marketing Officer

Originally from the UK, Tereza began her career working with Granada Television and the BBC before moving to Kuwait where she worked as a senior executive in an international marketing agency serving the Middle East and Europe. She then headed up marketing and development for an international humanitarian organization headquartered in Washington D.C. Her achievements during her 17-year tenure include building an international integrated marketing program leading to a profitable global brand, increasing a funding base of about $250,000 annually to more than $100 million annually in direct and leveraged funding, developing a strategic country licensing model for sustainability, multiple television production and photography awards, and society's much-coveted Webby's! She wrote and delivered, globally, curriculum-based training modules in marketing, development, and crisis anticipation and management, before being recruited by IFAW as Vice President for Development and External Affairs and joining Earthwatch in 2011

Eve Carpenter

Eve Carpenter
Chief Operating Officer

Eve oversees the design, development and delivery of all Earthwatch's field learning programs. With support from her experienced team, she also works with a range of partners to develop transformational learning programs across corporate, conservation and education audiences. Eve championed the development of a global learning strategy for Earthwatch that aims to develop environmental leaders and drive more sustainable practices. She spearheaded the development of the HSBC Climate Partnership, a field learning program that engages HSBC's global workforce in climate issues to create real change in the business. Eve has wide ranging corporate and NGO management experience.

Dr. Mark Chandler Dr. Mark Chandler
International Director of Research

Overseeing strategic development of the research program, including the 65 projects run by Earthwatch across the globe, Mark received his doctorate from McGill University studying the evolution of host-parasite communities in tropical frog communities. He is a prominent conservation biologist with over 20 years experience conducting field research in Central and South America, East Africa and New England. Mark's research interests include the human and natural dimensions of sustainable agriculture, the conservation aquatic biodiversity fisheries, community ecology and evolutionary dynamics. His professional interests are the development of sustainable agriculture programs that enhance both livelihoods and the environment, the active participation of local communities in field conservation programs, and the capacity development of scientists from under-served communities.

Marsha O’Doherty Marsha O’Doherty
International Director of Human Resources

As Director of Human Resources internationally, Marsha champions the development of a global human resource strategy allowing for country differences, using local human resources for guidance, and maintains a level of parity for the staff throughout the organization as it relates to salary and benefits. Marsha has a wide range of nonprofit operational management experience as a national staff member of the American Red Cross, and has worked in Germany, Italy, Japan, Bosnia and Kosovo, as well as holding several US stateside assignments.
