Give Through Your Employer
Perhaps best known as Workplace or Payroll Giving, this form of giving involves making a one-off or regular donation to Earthwatch through a deduction from your gross pay cheque. All administration is handled by your company and an HMRC-regulated third-party payroll giving agency, which takes a small administration fee off of each donation.
Giving through a pay cheque deduction gives you immediate relief on the donated amount at your highest rate of income tax because the donation is deducted from your gross salary before tax is calculated, making workplace giving among the most tax-effective ways to give to Earthwatch.
Your employer must first have a workplace giving scheme set up in order for you to participate. Inquire with your finance or human resources department. If your employer does not have a workplace giving scheme in place, encourage a senior manager to set one up.
