Research Focus: Restoring the rainforests of Borneo

Research Results

Field research on this project is at a very early stage with fieldwork and data collection only having started in August 2009.

The beginning work on this project focused on establishing sites for measuring erosion long-term, baseline assessments of vegetation, and seed planting to aid in project monitoring.

The erosion monitoring sites were established by creating erosion bridges in pristine forest, forest under active restoration, forest patches within oil palm plantations, and in mature oil palm plantations.
