Meet the Earthwatch team - get the lowdown on what we do, why we need you and what to expect from the Earthwatch experience at the Earthwatch Expeditions Open Day.
09.45 - 10.00: Welcome to Earthwatch. Enjoy a hot drink and settle in.
10.00 - 10.15: What is Earthwatch? Who are Earthwatch? How do I get involved? A brief introduction to what we do and why we need you.
10.15 - 10.45: Expedition Focus: ‘Cheetah'. Fellowships Officer, Vicky Potts gives a first-hand account of her once-in-a-lifetime visit to Namibia this summer and explains why human/animal conflict is a high research priority for Earthwatch.
10.45 - 11.15: Expedition Focus: ‘Dolphins of Greece'. Expedition Coordinator, Ian Allison explains how conservation action aimed at respectful management of local resources can benefit both vulnerable dolphin populations and fishing communities in the Mediterranean.
11.15 - 11.40: Morning Break
11.40 - 12.00: Travel Equipment, Specialist Clothing and Health. What to know, before you go - with Paul Goodyer, CEO and Co-founder of Nomad Travel & Outdoor.
12.00 - 12.20: The Earthwatch Experience: An Earthwatch volunteer talks about the Volunteer experience.
12.20 - 1.30: Let's Get Going! Your chance to grab a sandwich, speak with Earthwatch staff and book your Expedition.
