Underwrite Earthwatch's Global Research Programme

For over 35 years Earthwatch's Global Research Programme has been increasing our understanding of key environmental issues, providing the scientific basis for conservation action and policy by governments, industry and local communities.

Today, Earthwatch supports around 120 research projects in over 50 countries round the world. Corporate partnerships present an opportunity to expand our research programme and investigate new areas of business and biodiversity research. Companies can help Earthwatch increase public understanding of key environmental issues by funding research within one of our four Research Areas (RAs) - Oceans, Climate Change, Sustainable Resource Management, Sustainable Communities.

Ways of supporting the Global Research Programme :

  • Developing new research projects.

  • Underwriting existing projects to ensure their survival.

  • Training and research grants to support emerging scientists in this area of research.

  • Providing research and communication equipment.

  • Organising local stakeholder workshops.

  • Providing resources for Earthwatch's in-country research partners.

  • Disseminating research findings among policy makers.

  • Producing publications such as training guides, species I.D. posters and field handbooks for conservation practitioners.

  • Funding start-up and annual operations of research field centres.
