Programme Features

Whatever your motivation for starting an employee engagement programme, our team will work with you to deliver an innovative programme that will achieve your company's objectives.

Each of Earthwatch's employee engagement programmes are unique, below are some common features of successful programmes:

PRE-PROJECT

Identifying the environmental champions of the future...

  • Earthwatch works with you to design a tailor made application process. Alternatively you may decide to nominate outstanding employees to join.
  • All successful employees have a dedicated member of Earthwatch staff, offering pre-project advice on travel, training and safety.
  • Participants are provided with detailed Expedition briefings well in advance that cover all aspects of the project.
  • There are plenty of opportunities to speak to previous Earthwatch volunteers and corporate employees who have been on the project.

IN THE FIELD

A life-changing experience...

  • Participants join one of over 120 scientific research expeditions across the globe.
  • They will work with some of the world's leading scientists whose passion and knowledge is sure to inspire.
  • Team size range from 5 to 15 people from a diverse range of nationalities, cultures and backgrounds.
  • Expeditions last from between 5 and 20 days.
  • An in-country pick up from rendezvous location (usually airport) to research site is arranged.
  • Earthwatch has a world class record in Health and Safety.
  • There are opportunities for seminars and bespoke training programmes whilst in the field.
  • Participants can share their experience with work colleagues and friends (NB not all projects have access to the internet).

POST PROJECT

The end of the expedition is just the beginning...

  • Returning participants will become environmental 'champions' in the workplace.
  • Experiences, knowledge and enthusiasm is shared to colleagues, friends and family through presentations, events and online media.
  • Participants become part of an ever increasing network of corporate employees, volunteers and scientists, which supports their efforts to communicate their environmental message.
  • Field reports and project updates keep participants up to date with how the project is progressing.
  • With Earthwatch's support participants can design, organise and implement community project or combine with other colleagues to do something positive for their local community.
