Record HSBC applications
Earthwatch is extremely pleased with the increase in the number of applications from HSBC employees this year and the geographic spread of HSBC regions represented. We feel that this increase represents a continued enthusiasm for the Fellowship programme that has already offered nearly 1500 people the chance to get involved in international scientific research projects and many more to help volunteer to improve their local environment. We are grateful to the many Fellows who continue to support the programme through making presentations to colleagues to encourage them to apply and galvanising the local community into making a difference to the environment, through their community projects.
The Facts:
- Overall application numbers have increased by 20% on last year. We have now received nearly 10,000 applications during the 5 years of applications.
- Number of countries from which applications have been received has increased to 50. (This is an increase of 7 countries from last year and represents nearly two thirds of the total number of countries in which HSBC has a presence).
- Applications received from two new country's, Chile/Maldives.
