Duke of Cambridge sends message of support and encouragement to Earthwatch
Earthwatch recently received a personal message from Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge.
The letter acknowledges and celebrates the organisation’s achievements and impacts over 40 years of supporting leading scientists and empowering people to undertake crucial research around the world.
Earthwatch was one of the beneficiaries of the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund, established to raise funds for good causes on the occasion of the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge last April.
The £33,000 donated to Earthwatch from the fund is being used to establish Teach Earth - a fully-funded one-week residential programme for secondary-level teachers that combines ‘hands-on’ climate change research and tailored learning sessions.
