Nestlé with headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland was founded in 1866 by Henri Nestlé and is today the world's biggest food and beverage company. Nestlé employs around 250,000 people and markets its products in 130 countries.

Nestlé UK Ltd have been members of the Earthwatch Corporate Environmental Responsibility Group (CERG) since 2005. In 2008 the company will send 4 of its key HR, Learning, Production and CSR staff to the Earthwatch Sustainable Coffee Production project in Costa Rica.
