Home   >   Expeditions   >   Family Teams

Families today are so busy that it's hard to find the time to do meaningful activities together. Getting kids involved in science expeditions at an early age helps develop critical thinking skills and an appreciation for the natural world. We believe that some expeditions make great hands-on learning family experiences, as well as providing inspiration and a model for personal involvement in taking care of our planet.

Family expeditions include:

  • Half-days of hands-on science with special instruction from the scientists
  • Half-day age-appropriate activities and outings to local attractions
  • Two additional Earthwatch staff members to facilitate the kids activities and research activities
  • Opportunity to meet requirements for scout badges or community service
  • Time to explore surroundings and reconnect with your family
  • Comfortable lodgings
