USEFUL FIELD MANAGEMENT DOCUMENTS

FIELD MANUAL
The field Manual details best practices and policies for running EW teams in the field.  Please familiarize yourself with this document and the Earthwatch expectations of how teams should most effectively and safely be prepared for and delivered.

BUDGET TEMPLATE
The budget template is what we will use to gather your predicted fielding expenses and determine what your research budget will look like.  This template creates a per-volunteer grant that we generally disburse about 1 month prior to each team, and the number of volunteers we are able to recruit for your EW teams is what determines how much your total grant will be in the end.

LETTER OF AGREEMENT
This is an agreement that you and EW will sign prior to fielding, and it describes what you can expect of EW and what EW can expect of you.  Sometimes referred to as the “contract”.

RISK ASSESSMENT TEMPLATE
To be completed by scientists and program manager together, after funding approval and at least 60 days prior to first team.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN TEMPLATE
To be completed by scientists and program manager together, after funding approval and at least 30 days prior to first team.

ANNUAL TIMELINE FOR AN EARTHWATCH PROJECT
This is the ideal timeline of the annual cycle of a project, which demonstrates what actions or documentation need to be completed, and at what time of the year in relation to the field team dates.
