Expedition Fund Rules
The minimum contribution to establish a fund is $100.
This Expedition Fund page cannot be used to keep track of your total Expedition Fund balance, as it does not reflect donations made by mail or phone, or funds used toward Expedition balances.
Expedition Funds cannot be used for Family team contributions.
Friends and family members can make minimum donations of $25 to help you reach your goal.
Each year's contribution must be used with a three-year period. All contributions given in 2008 expire December 31, 2011.
Expedition Funds are redeemable for expedition contributions only. They can not be used for transportation costs to or from the staging area, or for other Earthwatch products or services such as memberships, briefings, or event fees.
All Funds not used within the three year limit are non-refundable, and will be used for the general operations of Earthwatch Institute to support conservation, research and education programs.
Expedition Funds are only for future year fieldings, and in most cases are not intended for current year expeditions.
For United States taxpayers, Expedition Fund contributions are tax-deductible in the year in which they are made.
