Earthwatch launches Project at Delhi
Anil Kumar, Head of Shared Services for Global Finance Centres at HSBC Delhi, helped launch the Earthwatch project in Delhi with voluntary participation of employees from HSBC offices in Delhi and Gurgaon.
This one-day learning and engagement on local environmental issues is a joint initiative of HSBC, Earthwatch Institute and Delhi chapter of Bombay Natural History Society. As part of this project, the HSBC executives volunteer to carry out field research at Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary (ABWLS), the lone wildlife sanctuary in the city of Delhi.

23 HSBC volunteers carried out rapid plant diversity assessment at ABWLS by taking randomised vegetation sampling, where they studied 20 quadrates of 100 sq. mtr. each and estimated plant diversity, abundance & frequency. These findings are later on to be used in preparing the management plan for this sanctuary.
