HCP International Green Awards
The pioneering partnership between Earthwatch and HSBC has been nominated for an award under the Best Green Employee Engagement category.
The Climate Champion program set up by Earthwatch under the HSBC Climate Partnership is engaging HSBC employees in a tailored experiential learning program to develop skills and knowledge on climate change and sustainability issues. By December 2011, 2,200 employees or Climate Champions will have spent up to two weeks at one of Earthwatch’s five Regional Climate Centers as citizen scientists, helping Earthwatch researchers gather data on how climate change is affecting the world’s temperate and tropical forests.
The International Green Awards™ represent a diverse spread of inspirational and ground-breaking organizations, individuals and ideas from across the world.
Winners will be announced at a gala dinner in London on November 24, 2011.
