Earthwatch Institute Announces Annual Conference
Join Earthwatch Institute on Saturday, November 6 th, 2004 for a day of discovery, networking, and lively discussion about scientific research expeditions worldwide. Meet over 75 distinguished scientists who need your help with field research projects ranging from archaeological digs to saving endangered sea turtles. Speakers include archaeologist Dr. Charles Adams (University of Arizona) on the ancestors of the Hopi in Arizona, Dr. Ana Cañadas (University of Madrid) on Spanish dolphins, Boston University's Dr. Tigga Kingston on Malaysian bat conservation, palaeontologist Dr. Oscar Alcober (Universidad Nacional de San Juan) on the dawn of the dinosaur age in Argentina, Dr. Frederieke Kroon (CSIRO Australia) on tropical fish ecology of Queensland, Australia, and Dr. Nick Oguge, field director of the Earthwatch Samburu Conservation Research Initiative in Kenya. The keynote speaker for the conference is famed ocean researcher and National Geographic Explorer-In-Residence, Dr. Sylvia Earle.
Educators, students, and scientists are invited to participate in our Educator Track sessions on both Friday afternoon and Saturday, November 5 th and 6 th.
