Internship Opportunities

Earthwatch Institute's mission is to promote sustainable conservation of our natural resources and cultural heritage by creating partnerships between scientists, educators and the general public. To realize this mission, Earthwatch Institute has three recognized areas of focus: Research, Education and Conservation. This year, Earthwatch will sponsor over 130 scientific field research projects in 49 countries and 18 American states, making estimated volunteer field grants of $3.7 million.

Those interested in applying for any position should submit their CV or resume to the staff person indicated in the posting, either by e-mail, regular mail, or fax.

  • Most of these are administrative positions at our Maynard, MA office and are not in the field or associated directly with any project unless posted otherwise
  • Earthwatch cannot cover relocation costs or travel costs associated with employment.
  • Compensation, if it is posted, is a general indicator and does not include any consideration of benefits.
  • Internships are volunteer, but may lead to opportunities to participate in Earthwatch expeditions.

Due to limited time and financial resources we are only able to accept applicants who are currently eligible to work in the United States for any employer unless otherwise specified in the job description.

Please indicate internship title in subject line of email. Send cover letter and resume to hr@earthwatch.org; fax 978-897-0935; mail HR Earthwatch Institute, P.O. Box 75, Maynard, MA 01754-0075. No phone calls please.
