This second annual Science Report profiles many of the scientific achievements of Earthwatch projects, focusing on work carried out in 2009.
This year, our report introduces the High Level Goals that comprise the framework for our activities around the world, and we give examples of those projects that illustrate our goals to increase scientific knowledge safely and effectively, working with environmental leaders and local communities.
The 15 case studies we have chosen offer some inspirational highlights of the outstanding efforts of our scientists, field assistants, volunteers and other participants on our field research projects.

Earthwatch scientists convert data collected in the field into information influencing 100 policies and management plans this year.
Bankers turn Climate Champions, monitoring global change in forests through a pioneering program, and bring back valuable knowledge to their workplace.
